The model is artist and curator Cable Griffith. I made him shave his beard for the shoot—the assignment was just to shoot a guy with a mustache.

My personal work is generally shot on film, and often with an archaic view camera. These images of steel truss bridges were made with a 7×17 inch banquet camera. I printed them with cyanotype chemistry on all-rag watercolor paper.

I’ve been shooting dance photography for years. My work with the Maureen Whiting Company, Scott/Powell, Amy O’Neal’s Locust, and the (sadly defunct) 33 Fainting Spells has been particularly satisfying.
