This restaurant shoot was especially satisfying: the natural sunlight was perfect and the plating was super nice. The Weekly used this crowd scene for a lead: This tuna poke plate:

Sunset Tavern Crowd

This was just the best, funnest shoot in a while. I love being a photographer and pushing right to the front of the crowd. I just say excuse me I need to take some pictures! In any case, HalloQueen, the Queen tribute band was awesome and hilarious at the same time.

Seafair Pirates at the Lusty Lady

This was a very fun cover shoot for the Seattle Weekly. The theme was Pirates Going Barhopping. We had three of the incomparable Seafair Pirates as models: Doug “Barnacle” Kuehne, Mike “Sparrow” Knowlton, and Kerry “Ancient One” Dean. .

Prom Date!

This was a cover shoot for Seattle Weekly, and it was very satisfying. The boy in the ball gown is Nicholas Terry, creator of the film Senior Prom. Terry’s film is a mocumentary of his high school prom, made on an $800 budget. Plus, he got his film into Seattle International Film Festival!

Bars and Restaurants

I’ve had a lot of gigs photographing restaurants, mostly for Seattle Weekly. I enjoy shooting in low light, with digital equipment, and a little bounced flash.

Cab Drivers

Cab Drivers

This was such a fun news shoot. Seattle’s cab drivers were outraged at King County’s taxi licensing policies. The climax was a public meeting with all the taxi drivers taking out their frustrations on one pasty county bureaucrat who obviously didn’t know much about the lives of the drivers who’s livelihood the county was threatening.

The Glenwood Rodeo

The Glenwood Rodeo

Its not really my culture, but I love rodeo. I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and never went to any rodeo until I was in my thirties. But I find the machismo, the western esthetic, the horses and bulls exciting.
